Sunrise Telecom releases CM2800E Sweep system and Cable mobem Network Analyser 11 January 2010
Sunrise Telecom’s new CaLan® compatible CM2800 Sweep System and Cable Modem Network Analyser is the latest addition to Sunrise installation, service and plant verification testing and troubleshooting solutions. An intuitive user interface, VGA colour touch screen and Windows CE™ operating system combined with a comprehensive measurement suite and an extensive PC toolkit simplify and speed plant maintenance and increase quality of service.
The CM2800 sets a new standard for CATV plant maintenance. For the first time, a high-resolution, non-intrusive sweep function has been combined with triple play service and network analysis to validate the network’s capacity to deliver next-generation services. This comprehensive tool is the only instrument necessary to help reduce outages and optimize the crowded upstream for DOCSIS 3.0.
With a truly modern sweep system that provides exceptional graphics display, the CM2800 enables operators to detect the smallest of impairments before they affect customer experience. Its intuitive user interface, automated measurements and familiar Windows CE operating system simplify and speed plant maintenance.
“We are excited that many major cable operators throughout the world have come to embrace this new product. This best-in-class product helps cable operators lower their cost and improve their customers’ experience,” said Mr. Moukadam.

NetHawk Receives New LTE EPC Test System Orders 11 May 2009
NetHawk has received significant test system orders for LTE EPC (Long Term Evolution,
Evolved Packet Core) testing from a major North American telecom infrastructure vendor.
The orders include the NetHawk EAST LTE Load Test Simulation platform for the S-GW
(Serving Gateway) testing with multi-user functionality. The delivered system will be actively
used by 25 simultaneous users with the future option to upgrade the system to 50
simultaneous users and beyond.
The flexible, multi-user functionality of the NetHawk EAST platform makes it easy to share
the simulation platform across multiple users and across multiple testbeds bringing
NetHawk’s customers significant savings. The ATCA (Advanced Telecom Computing
Architecture) blades and NPU (Network Processing Unit) processor units are providing the
required capacity to cover the performance needs of multiple, simultaneous users.
“Continuous LTE orders in a highly competitive area like North America, where all our
biggest competitors are headquartered, is proving our ultimate competitiveness with the
EAST platform”, says Jari Sankala, Executive Vice President of Sales at NetHawk. “We are
focusing on LTE and continuously developing new features and functionalities into our LTE
testing solutions”.
SunSet MTT ACM II Chassis features a family of plug-in modules, providing a wide variety of testing capabilities for the Access Network 18 November 2008
The Advanced Cable Maintenance (ACM II) Chassis, part of the Sunrise Telecom SunSet Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) family of test sets, is a rugged, battery operated test solution for installation and maintenance of physical layer access network services. The new SunSet MTT ACM II is the industry’s premier handheld test system designed to qualify copper cables at VDSL2 frequencies, readying service providers for triple play deployments.
The ACM II covers an industry best frequency range from voiceband to 30 MHz – necessary for VDSL2 qualification based on FTTN or MDU architectures. Our patented ‘detaptor’ feature helps identify short bridge taps, which are especially harmful for VDSL2 transmission. In addition, ACM II offers key voice frequency features that are common to industry methods and procedures. Using the SunSet MTT ACM II enables service providers to complete installations in less time and with greater confidence in the quality of service delivered to customers.
Procera Networks wins $ 4 Million contract with Global Tier 1 Mobile Operator for Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) 12 November 2008
Procera Networks, a developer of Evolved Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) solutions providing traffic awareness, control and protection for complex networks, announced that a global Tier-1 mobile operator has selected Procera’s award-winning PacketLogic™ PL10000 platform to optimise its network performance, reduce infrastructure costs and create new services for its mobile broadband customers.
The deal, worth more than $4 million, will include multiple PL10000 platforms that can scale up to 80 Gbps deployed throughout the mobile operator’s network. Procera won this deal against a field of other DPI vendors based on the real-time accuracy and performance of its PL10000 platform.
“We believe this customer win validates both the potential of DPI for mobile operators and the specific approach that Procera is taking toward this technology,” said James F. Brear, president and CEO of Procera Networks. “In particular, we feel the size of the deal is a bellwether for DPI and should facilitate additional moves by other mobile operators.
As mobile broadband services continue to mature and attract millions of users worldwide, we believe that DPI will become a ‘must have’ technology in order to ensure that all users receive their fair share of bandwidth while also reducing the operators’ ongoing infrastructure costs.”
